As part of her message, Priscilla will provide an update on this important mission.

A New Resource
J.J Referral Services/Open House

For the past twelve years I have learned to navigate through the human services system. It is for this reason I have decided to open up a referral business to help clients obtain the basic resources of life without the red tape. These resources include for example: food, clothing, housing, employment, and emotional support. Services range from suggestions to what agencies to use to assistance on completing forms for MassHealth and various agencies in the human services system. Clients will be referred by Social Services and can reach me at 781-572-0219 to make an appointment. Together we can help people become self-sufficient and learn to use the system and become empowered.

I would like to invite people to see how my service has grown and celebrate in my being able to help the people who need it. It will be on September 26, 2006 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and I hope to see you there.

Singers Wanted

The Chancel Choir starts a new season of music in September. We rehearse on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 10:00 a.m. (before the service). The first rehearsal is scheduled for Thursday, September 7. Singers of all ages, vocal ranges, and musical experience levels are welcome. The ability to read music is not required. New participants are welcome at all times. Regular participants are expected to attend a majority of rehearsals, and let the director or another member of choir know if they cannot come on any Sunday or Thursday. For further information, speak to any member of choir or the director, Nancy Timmerman (nstpe@hotmail.com).

BPC Nursery School Registration

There are some openings left in the afternoon 4-year old class which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. If you know of anyone looking for a nursery school, please have them call Registrar, Linda Benson at 781-272-9190.

2006 Peacemaking Offering

World Communion Sunday, October 1

The Peacemaking Offering is a means of supporting the mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in this country and around the world. Congregations are encouraged to keep 25 percent of the offering for peace-making efforts in the local church or community. Recently, this offering has helped to provide scholarships for local students. Twenty-five percent of the offering is dedicated to Presbytery and Synod peacemaking projects, and the remaining 50 percent supports the denomination's Peacemaking Program. The Offering will be received on World Communion Sunday, October 1.

42nd Annual Choir Festival

A Service of Ecumenical Song at Gordon Memorial Chapel, Wenham, MA on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. Please mark your calendars.

At this time, people who would like to sing are invited to let Nancy Timmerman know (nstpe@hotmail.com) so music can be ordered. There are 16 choral numbers. Regional rehearsals are scheduled between October 20 and 27, with an additional rehearsal before the service on October 29. This is a wonderful opportunity to sing with hundreds of other singers from the metropolitan area.
