Temple Shalom Emeth, Burlington
For many years, the interfaith religious community has been invited to this annual remembrance service. Leaders of various religious groups share in leading the service. Most moving, though, is the participation of members of the Temple confirmation class who read, and light candles representing the dead of many nations in the holocaust.
The featured speakers this year will be a couple who experienced the holocaust. One was part of the Kindertransport, the rescue operation which carried thousands of Jewish children from Germany to Great Britain during 1938-1940.
Please consider taking part in this evening. It is so important to remember, and renew commitments that this never will happen again.
The annual special offering of the Presbyterian Church (USA) supports programs for children and youth-at-risk, and young adults. A portion of the offering remains with our church, to be used in ways we choose.
Pentecost Sunday is May 15. There will be special envelopes in the pews, or you may make a check to The Presbyterian Church and memo it "Pentecost Offering."

June 3 & 4, 2005
It's our first ever Women's retreat to take place at the Espousal Retreat House in Wlatham on Friday evening June 3, and during the day on Saturday, June 4, 2005. The planning committee is now working with our leader, Babbie Cameron, to develop the theme and activities. The cost for meals, housing and leader should be well under $100 and scholarship help will be available. Please mark your calendars and watch this space for more details to follow!
Our scheduled week to go to Maine, to do volunteer housing rehabbing and renewal for rural elderly and poor, is July 31 - August 5. We team up with folks from other Presbyterian churches -- it's a great experience. Skills are welcome but not required. Adults and youth have had very rewarding times together. It is possible to attend for just part of the week. Housing is in dorms at the U. Maine in Farmington.
Our Presbytery shares a beautiful camp with two other presbyteries -- it's in Wilmot, NH, about 30 minutes northwest of Concord. Summer programs include:
