The planning committee is now working with our leader, Babbie Cameron, to develop the theme and activities. Our scheduled week to go to Maine, to do volunteer housing rehabbing and renewal for rural elderly and poor, is July 31 - August 5. We team up with folks from other Presbyterian churches -- it's a great experience. Skills are welcome but not required. Adults and youth have had very rewarding times together. It is possible to attend for just part of the week. Housing is in dorms at the U. Maine in Farmington.

BPC is again taking part in the Cooperating Congregations' Peace Scholarship program. Two $1,000 scholarships are available for seniors living in Burlington and graduating from high school this year. The awards recognize contributions students have made to resolving conflict, promoting acceptance of differences, etc. Our church's share is provided from our annual Peacemaking Offering proceeds. Nominating papers were due on MArch 31. This year's selection committee will meet in April to interview and choose awardees. Would you like to be part of this fascinating, and upbeat, endeavor?
