It’s a Homegrown Coffeehouse & Mardi Gras Party! Saturday, February 25, 6:30 p.m.           Do you sing? Play an instrument? Tell jokes? Juggle? Read poetry? Or do you just like to be with the church family when it’s having a good time? Mark your calendar for this don’t-miss, doldrums-beating variety show for all ages.           Proceeds will benefit two things: Katrina relief and this year’s MATE crew (to work on housing for elderly and poor in Maine).           Talent-scouts are scouring the congregation for performers – don’t wait to be drafted! Sign up now! Annual Meeting – It’s A Matinee! January 21 – 2:00 p.m. Fellowship Hall Ice cream sundaes – 1:30 p.m. (If weather appears to be a factor, there’ll be a message on the answering machine by 11 am).           The Annual Meeting of the Congregation and Corporation of our church is one of the most important times we gather outside of our regular Sunday worship. All members of our church family are most Presbyterian-ly urged to come, for business and fellowship!           According to church bylaws, the meeting is held on the third Saturday of January. It will again be in the afternoon. This is to make for easier winter traveling and avoid a late evening for families with young children. Childcare will be available.           Moderator Rod MacDonald will call the meeting to order. Following brief devotions there will be reviews of the life of our church in the year just past, election of officers (candidates for elders, deacons, trustees, and member-at-large to next year’s Nominating Committee will be presented by the Nominating Committee); review of the budget for 2006 and approval of pastoral terms of call. Chairperson of the Trustees, Steve Ross, will conduct the meeting of the Corporation.           Annual Reports will be available to the congregation on Sunday, January 8 thanks to the coordination of Session Clerk Mary Anne McDonald. Nominees for office to be presented by the Nominating Committee will be included.

Lunch and Conversation: How Can We Be a More Welcoming Congregation?           On January 8, 2006, from 11:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. the membership committee would like to spend some time with you over lunch, talking about how we greet people, including children, how to tune into why new people may be here. Do we have an inviting space? Our menu: Beef Barley Soup Noodle soup Bread Dessert Beverages We are asking you to provide the bread. It can be any kind of yeast bread or a quick bread such as banana, cranberry etc. Child care will be available.
