As human beings made in God's image, children are a gift from God, and it is the church's responsibility to help ensure that their needs for a stable and secure environment in which to grow and learn are met. As adult leaders of the church we have a special responsibility to the youngest children, who are the most dependent upon adults for their nurturing, to help provide them with such an environment as an example of God's loving care to His children. Fulfilling this responsibility also strengthens our covenant with God to look after all of his children, which includes helping parents on whom the demands of raising a family are greatest prior to the children reaching school age.
Just as God's benevolence and generosity extends to all those who will hear His word, The Burlington Presbyterian Church (BPC) extends its helping hand not only to those families who are its members, but also to the families in its surrounding communities. One outreach program that BPC performs is providing a half-day nursery school that is run as a non-profit business within BPC facilities. The Presbyterian Nursery School (PNS) fulfills an invaluable community service by providing affordable half-day childcare for pre-school age children to assist working parents with less than full day needs.
