- Displaying a special concern for the needs, both physical and spiritual, of the members and friends of Burlington Presbyterian Church and those in surrounding communities. It is especially important to us to support each other with prayer, both in times of need and with thanks in times of joy.
- A current ongoing activity is with local outreach programs: Burlington's People Helping People. We send regular donations of food to the food pantry and help with the Wish Tree during the Christmas holiday season.
- Monthly, we serve a meal at Woburn's Dwelling Place. The deacons also support mission outreach to areas struck by disaster, and to support education and healthcare in places like Cabanlutan, Phillipines.
- From time to time, the Board of Deacons provides special receptions or luncheons on behalf of the congregation, for example in the case of a funeral or memorial service.
- Deacons also sponsor Christian Enrichment and Fellowship Programs such as speakers on organ donation, hospice, living wills, etc. We host a blood drive annually in loving memory of Vicky Graham.
- Deacons sponsor several annual gift offerings
Spring: Maundy Thursday
Summer: Yard Sale
Fall: Blankets and Tools for Church World Service
Winter: Family Holiday Offering
- The annual Yard Sale has historically been the Deacon's largest fund-raising activity, which returns a significant portion back to the church community. The yard sale usually occurs some time in June. Save your treasures to sell on behalf of the church! Strong backs to work and lift are also greatly welcome.
